1090 Bicycle Society User Guide
1090 Bicycle Society is a community platform for bicycle enthusiasts. Members can explore posts on the home page and map, register and log in, create posts with media and map locations, connect with other members, send private messages, complete a profile, and read blog and help articles throughout the site.
1. Start at the Home Page – 1090 Posts
The home page displays the 1090 Posts list. This is the main community feed where new visitors and members can see what others are sharing.
- Browse posts from the community
- View post titles, images, and comments
- See map-related content attached to posts
- Use this page as the main starting point for exploring the site
As a new visitor, the best first step is simply to look through posts and get familiar with the type of content members share.
2. View the Map – See Posts by Location
The Map page displays posts and activity using location markers. This allows members to explore content geographically.
- Zoom in and out to view different areas
- Move around the map to explore nearby activity
- Click markers to view related content
3. Search the Map – Select Category and Subcategory
The search tools help narrow what you see on the map and in site content. A new user can use search to find the kinds of posts they care about most.
- Search by text or keyword
- Filter by date range
- Select a Category
- Select a Subcategory when available
Example categories shown may include items such as:
- Shout Out!
- Places
- Family
- Military
- Heritage
- Groups
A practical flow for a new user is to open the map first, then use category and subcategory filters to quickly find the kinds of posts they want to explore.
